Apple demanded Telegram to remove support for HTML5 games
Telegram messenger has removed the ability to run HTML5 games in its iOS version. Pavel Durov explains this by Apple’s requirement.
In October 2016, Telegram launched support for HTML5 games. With the help of one or another bot, the user could find a game for himself and play it directly in the messenger.
On May 18, Telegram released updates on iOS. Those who installed it were faced with the fact that the games began to open not in the messenger, but in the Safari browser.
The reason that the iOS version of the messenger no longer plays games directly in the app is Apple’s threat to remove Telegram from the app store, – said the founder and CEO of the service Pavel Durov on Twitter.

VK is also working on its HTML5 games platform at the moment. As for Facebook, despite the popularity of Instant Games, it has not implemented monetization into the platform even after its release from beta.
