Crossfire developer is looking for partners in the West

The South Korean company Smilegate is looking for developers in the United States and Europe to expand its business in the Western video game market and promote the Crossfire shooter.

The company declares its readiness to provide financing, as well as services for publishing and localization of games in Asian countries.

“We are constantly investing in promising startups and gaming companies because we have the desire and opportunity to publish great games without limiting ourselves to certain genres and platforms,” said Smilegate Worldwide President Ina Jang.

In February of this year, Smilegate opened an office in Berlin.

In addition to the general expansion of business in Europe and America, Smilegate is interested in further promoting the Crossfire tactical multiplayer shooter to a Western audience.

Crossfire launched in Europe in 2011, but the game debuted in its homeland 4 years earlier. According to Smilegate, 650 million users have been registered in Crossfire to date.

Ina Jang said that in order to increase the popularity of the title among Western players, the company intends to transfer Crossfire to consoles and even release a film based on this franchise.

The sequel of the shooter is being developed by Smilegate together with the Swedish company Starbreeze.
