Sega earned $833 million on video games in a year
Video game sales brought Sega Sammy Group of companies 94.4 billion ($833 million) in revenue in fiscal year 2017, according to the organization’s report.
At the end of the year, sales of digital copies increased by 4%, and physical versions — by 11%.
The profit from the sale of video games for the year amounted to 7.5 billion rubles ($66.1 million).
The highest-grossing Sega games last year were the MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 for PlayStation 4 and the mobile titles Chain Chronicle 3 and Puyopuyo! Quest.
Sega also noted good sales of the Total War: Warhammer strategy and the Japanese Persona 5 role-playing game.
