The head and founder of NaturalMotion has resigned
The publisher of the CRS racing series has lost its head: the head of the NaturalMotion company, Torsten Reil, has left his post.
Rail founded his firm in 2001 right after graduating from Oxford.
NaturalMotion has developed and patented the Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS) procedural animation technology.
DMS was used in GTA IV, Tekken 5, The Getaway and many others, and was also used in the films Poseidon and Troy.
NaturalMotion has been developing games for mobile platforms and consoles since 2009. Her latest project was the Dawn of Titans strategy, released on iOS and Android in 2016.
The game was nominated for this year’s BAFTA Award in the category “Best Mobile or Portable Project”.
Zynga acquired NaturalMotion in 2014 for $527 million.
Torsten Rail is leaving the business for personal reasons. Zynga’s Chief Operating Officer, David Byrne, will temporarily assume his duties.
