Activision Blizzard has earned $1.7 billion since the beginning of 2017
Activision Blizzard’s revenues for the first quarter of 2017 were better than expected and amounted to $1.7 billion, according to the company’s quarterly report.
Compared to the first quarter of 2016, Activision Blizzard’s revenues increased by 19%.
Digital sales accounted for $1.4 billion in revenue, an increase of 50% compared to last year.
PC platform revenues generated $556 million in revenue, consoles — $615 million, and mobile platforms — $475 million. Other sources generated another $70 million. These include sales of merchandise, tickets for esports tournaments, and so on.
Activision Blizzard’s main source of revenue in the first quarter of 2017 was the mobile segment.
King and its Candy Crush franchise brought in $474 million (42%) of total revenue.
Blizzard earned $441 million (39%), Activision — 215 million (19%).
