Mixi closes the English version of Monster Strike

The English version of the Monster Strike mobile battler will be completely closed from August 1 this year, according to the Japanese company Mixi.

The company decided to abandon the project due to its relatively low popularity among Western players.

“Despite all our efforts, the English version of Monster Strike has not achieved the success we had hoped for. Therefore, we can no longer support the game at an acceptable level,” the Mixi blog reported, adding that the decision to close the English—language Monster Strike “caused the developers themselves a lot of pain and frustration.”

Mixi promised to hold several gaming events before the official completion of the English version of Monster Strike. The ability to download the game will disappear after July 2.

Monster Strike since April 2014 is included in Top 10 highest-grossing mobile games in the world.

In the summer of 2015, the title brought in $4.2 million in revenue per day, and in 2016, Monster Strike earned $1.3 billion.
