Fire Emblem Heroes Earned More Super Mario Run

Super Mario Run brings Nintendo less revenue than Fire Emblem Heroes, despite a tenfold superiority in downloads.

This is reported by the journalist of the Wall Street Journal Takashi Mochizuki (Takashi Mochizuki) on his Twitter with reference to information received from Nintendo.

To increase profits from Super Mario Run, the Japanese publisher has increased the free trial period, added new content and refined the gameplay.

But it could not motivate users to give $9.99 for the full version of Super Mario Run. The game never achieved the expected result of 10% of purchases from the total number of downloads. Total downloads of the game today amount to 150 million.

The management of Nintendo noticed that they were disappointed with the financial performance of Super Mario Run.

Unlike Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes uses the more popular “freeplay with in-app purchases” model.

According to Mochizuki, in the last fiscal year, Nintendo mobile games earned in Japan and the United States in ¥20 billion (about $ 180 million).
