Apple will pay partners less for purchased apps
Apple informed the participants of the iTunes partner program about the reduction of the commission amount from applications and content inside them to 2.5%.
Members of the iTunes partner program can post links to applications in the App Store on their resources. Previously, Apple paid 7% of the cost of the application for each purchase made after clicking on such a link.
The change will affect only the programs and the content inside them. 7% commission on music, videos, books and other iTunes content will not change.
Application developers will continue to receive their 70% profit from each application sold.
With this decision, Apple will equalize the rest of the world with Japan, where the commission rate for partners is already 2.5%.
The change will come into force on May 1 of this year.
