SuperData: Gaming videos will earn $4.6 billion this year
The gaming video market continues to grow. The revenues of video content dedicated to games in 2017 will amount to $ 4.6 billion.
VentureBeat writes about this with reference to data from the research company SuperData.
Most of the amount – $3.2 billion – will be generated by advertising and sponsorship. The remaining money is direct receipts from viewers who have paid for a subscription or leave game tips.
By the way, the average PC or console gaming fan who watches Twitch or YouTube spends $70 a month on digital versions of games and in-game content.
The global audience of viewers of such content, according to the publication, has already reached 665 million people. This is slightly less than the population of the whole of Europe (according to 2015 data, it is 743.1 million people).
