Hooked app downloads increased by 560% in 5 months

Downloads of the Hooked app in the App Store and Google Market increased from 336 thousand to 2.2 million in 5 months.

Hooked presents users with fictional stories in the form of correspondence in messengers. The new format of the narrative turned out to be addictive and was especially loved by teenagers, who already spend a significant part of their time texting.

Hooked offers users an experience somewhat reminiscent of text quests and interactive novels like the popular mobile game Lifeline, which ranked first in the top paid iOS games in 30 countries, including the USA and Great Britain.

The most radical downloads increased by 131% (from 597 thousand to 1.38 million) in the period from November to December 2016.

Using an initial funding of $3 million, Hooked invested in expanding its user base, received extensive press coverage during the month and used this momentum to grow in the new year.

Hooked’s success was so noticeable that rival apps appeared on the market: Yarn and Tap Daily, and Yarn downloads rose by 350% in two weeks of March this year.
