Mobile gaming revenues will account for half of the gaming market turnover by 2021
According to the latest research by the analytical company DFC Intelligence, by 2021 mobile games will bring in $ 48 billion dollars — almost half of the expected annual turnover of the video game market of $ 100 billion.
The growth in mobile game revenue is due to the fact that consumers are now more likely to find good games and are more willing to spend money on them. Improving monetization is the main driver of future growth, given the ubiquity of mobile devices.

The growth factor is the ability of digital products today to use a premium model in which consumers are ready to pay in advance for content. This is the main change in a world where games are given away for free and where they are often forced to switch to a free-play model, which simply does not work for many projects.
The PC games market showed strong growth in all categories, with revenue in 2016 exceeding $30 billion. Console games, on the contrary, declined slightly in the retail segment, while sales of digital copies remained at the same level. But this year, experts predict growth thanks to a line of large game projects coming out on both PC and consoles. The success of the new Nintendo Switch console will also contribute.
The forecasts of the DFC Intelligence gaming industry are updated throughout the year taking into account current trends and new products.
