Tencent's gaming revenues exceeded $10 billion in 2016
Last year, the Chinese corporation Tencent earned $ 10.3 billion on online games, which is 25% higher than in 2015.
According to the report, Tencent earned the most money thanks to the MOBA League of Legends and the popularity of a number of mobile titles. For example, the Honor of Kings role-playing game has set an internal record for daily online of 50 million users.
Revenues from mobile games are increasingly affecting the overall profitability of the company. In the fourth quarter of 2016, revenues from smartphone titles increased by 51% compared to the previous year and reached $1.6 billion.
At the end of 2016, Tencent surpassed Activision Blizzard in gaming revenue (they earned $ 6.63 billion) and rose to first place in the ranking of the highest-grossing mobile publishers of the AppAnnie service.
