Activision and Elex to release Mobile Call of Duty
Activision has signed a partnership agreement with Chinese developer Elex to create a mobile game based on the Call of Duty franchise.
The contract is designed for three years after the release of the title, and can be extended for another year by agreement of the parties. Elex will be exempt from paying the license fee, and the development costs will be divided equally between the parties to the agreement. The contract only applies to one game.
The previous mobile project for the CoD series — Call of Duty: Siege was mothballed by Activision shortly after the soft launch without explanation.
Elex is known for the Clash of Kings strategy, and the studio is also working on the Total War: King’s Return game based on the Total War franchise.
