One of the leaders of Naughty Dog announced his departure

The co-president of the developer of the Uncharted series, Christophe Balestra, will leave Naughty Dog next month.

Balestra worked for the company for 15 years, becoming a member of the team during the heyday of titles such as Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter. For 12 years, he and Evan Wells headed Naughty Dog as co-presidents.

“It was not easy to admit that it was time to move away from career for personal goals and work on ideas. I want to spend more time with my family and take a short break to fill it with something new, but related to programming,” Balestra commented on his resignation.

He also added that he is proud of the successes that Naughty Dog has achieved over the years of his work in the studio — the creation of a new engine, the transition to new platforms and the development of several original franchises at once.

Saying goodbye to his colleagues, Christophe Balestra warmly thanked each member of Naughty Dog for the years of collaboration and expressed confidence that his friend Evan Wells would not let the company down as president.
