Push notifications with emojis are opened by users 85% more often
According to Leanplum’s marketing research, push notifications containing ideograms are read 85% more readily.
The trend is due to the love of users to communicate using emojis. The statistics are based on a daily analysis of 10 billion user actions, during which experts reviewed 2.6 billion push notifications.
Leanplum has identified 25 emojis that motivate the user to open a push notification with them more than others.
In 2016, push notifications were used 163% more often than in the previous year. The study also found that Android users read push notifications with emojis 135% more often than without them, while Apple’s audience responds to similar messages only 50% more actively.
“Today, app users want to enjoy their content. Therefore, the messenger market should appeal more to the emotions of the audience,” explained Momchil Kyurkchiev, director and co—founder of Leanpium.
Emojis not only attract attention, but also retain users. According to Leanplum research, thanks to push notifications with emojis, users continue to use the application by 28%.
