Rovio's revenues are going up again
The record performance of the gaming division and the success of The Angry Birds Movie increased the company’s profit by a third compared to 2015.
Rovio’s annual turnover for 2016 increased to €190.3 million (142.1 million for 2015), and profit before interest taxes reached €17.5 million. In 2015, the developer suffered losses of €21.1 million.
The game creation division in 2016 brought the company €159 million, 45 million more than in 2015, and the animation department earned €31.3 million, improving performance by €2.7 million.
“Rovio’s gaming business is growing rapidly. I’m glad to see Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Blast in Top 50 popular games in the USA”, — said the CEO of the company Kati Levoranta (Kati Levoranta).
In 2017, the Finnish developer will continue to invest in the development and promotion of gaming projects on the global market.
