The creators of EVE Online talked about record revenues over the past year

The Icelandic company CCP reported a 30% increase in revenue in 2016 — from $65.7 million to $86.1 million.

The number of daily active players in EVE Online doubled at the same time, and the average revenue per user increased by 20%.

CCP Director Hilmar Veigar Petursson explained the success of EVE Online by the ability to set very difficult tasks for gamers. For example, to build one Titan-class ship in the game requires the combined efforts of 4,000 players and 8 weeks of real time.

In addition to EVE Online support, CCP develops projects for VR devices. According to Petursson, the space shooter Gunjack has already sold half a million copies.

The Icelandic studio CCP has been developing and supporting the space MMORPG EVE Online since 2003. According to the company, in 2013, the number of EVE players exceeded half a million people.
