The creator of Goat Simulator has opened a publishing division
Swedish indie developer Coffee Stain Studio has launched its own publishing house.
The company claims that the new division will act more like a partner than a traditional publisher. It offers developers various types of publishing deals while maintaining their independent status.
The first game of the release of the new publisher will be the shooter Huntdown, inspired by the action films of the 80s.
“Coffee Stain Publishing starts small by signing publishing contracts for a few selected projects. This will allow us to concentrate well on work and enjoy creating games together with our developers,” said Anton Westbergh, director of the company.
Coffee Stain Studio is a Swedish studio that released a parody “goat simulator” Goat Simulator in 2014. Despite the playful nature and flaws, the game about the goat destroyer has gained viral popularity and brought fame to the creators.
