American iPhone users have started spending more on games and apps

In 2016, the average check of Apple smartphone users in the United States increased by $5 and amounted to about $40.

The lion’s share of these purchases was taken by mobile games about $ 27, whereas in 2015 this amount was $ 25. The rest was distributed between music, social networks, entertainment and visual content.

Along with the growing monetization of App Store apps, statistics indicate a decrease in the number of content downloads per active iPhone. For games, this indicator has also decreased from 10.5 to 9.9 downloads.

Mobile games remain Apple’s main way of generating app store revenue: sales accounted for 80% of App Store revenue in 2016.
