Every third mobile game on a smartphone is an action movie
30% of game downloads in 2016 were for projects in the action genre. Similar games also hold users much better than puzzles.
This was announced by Unity Technologies in its joint research with Superdata. The authors of the game engine stated that the retention of fighters is 70% higher than that of puzzles (the second most downloaded genre in the world). The same 70% of them are more likely to pass.
Segmentation of global mobile game downloads by genre
On average, the retention situation in the United States among the three most popular genres in the world (action movies, puzzles, simulators) is as follows:

- Android (1/3/7) – 20% / 9% / 5%
Unity also found out that 58% of smartphones on which games are played have one or less gigabytes of RAM installed.
