Google has introduced a certification program for novice Android developers
Google has started issuing an initial degree in Android development – an associate degree. You can take an exam for it on the Internet.
The purpose of certification is to establish professional standards in the labor market for novice specialists. Participation in the exam will cost $149.
To obtain an associate degree, a developer must be able to integrate code from an external library, display alerts to the user, and much more. The full list of topics is here. You can prepare for the exam, according to Google, using a free course on Udacity.
The exam is divided into two parts. In the first part, the student must solve a number of tasks in Android Studio in 48 hours (including testing and debugging the application). Upon successful completion of the stage, an interview is assigned, as a result of which a certificate is issued.
The certification program for novice developers was announced last May at Google I/O 2016, its launch took place a few months later. Today, 322 developers already have a degree.
