IO Interactive moved to a new office after the release of the latest series of the new Hitman
The release of an action about an assassin with a barcode on the back of his head by episodes may have become a commercial success. Its developers from the Danish IO Interactive received a new office after the release of the final episode.
On November 10, the Danes announced that they were changing their location within their native Copenhagen. Now they have a “new, ultra-modern” office with a motion capture studio. IO Interactive has also changed its logo.
The move, as well as the rebranding, occurred after the release of the final sixth episode of the third-person action Hitman. Episodes were released for the game throughout 2016 – from March to October.
“There was a lot of skepticism, which, it seems to me, often happens when you do something new,” says Christian Elverdam, creative director of the studio, in an interview with Videogamer. – “Part of the skepticism was in the spirit of: and this will work at all, and you will postpone [the release dates of episodes], how it will work within such a game. I think we have proved that it works well for us.”
The studio is currently working on the next season of the game.
By the way, in 2013, after the release of the previous game in the series – Hitman: Absolution – IO Interactive had to lay off 50% of employees. Now the studio is looking for new employees.
