Google is developing its own multiplayer game
Google’s division, engaged in the development of innovative projects, is going to take up the creation of a multiplayer game on the Unity engine.
This conclusion was made by Business Insider, based on the vacancies published by the division.
By the way, the division is called ATAP. It is well known, among other things, for its work on modular smartphones – Project Ara.
As for vacancies, Google’s daughter is looking for, among other things:
- creative director;
- the main backend developer;
- programmers specializing in mobile games.
The latter will be engaged in “the creation and implementation of services that will help to cope with large amounts of user data for a multiplayer game.” Among the requirements for a creative director is familiarity with the Unity package. His job responsibilities will include creating “concepts, storyboards, sketches,” as well as inventing game mechanics.
Most of the vacancies are aimed at people with at least 8 years of experience.
Business Insider writes that it is not worth pinning high hopes on the project yet. ATAP, being a platform for experiments, easily closes initiatives. At the same time, the division has big ambitions. ATAP is going to take up the development of the “future of mobile entertainment”.
About whether it will work or not – we offer to share opinions in the comments, and we ourselves note that the last gaming company that originated within the walls of Google was called Niantic. You may know her from the game Pokémon GO.
