Kabam: the average budget of each of our games before launch is $14 million
Kabam Chief Operating Officer Kent Wakeford said at GamesBeat 2016 that his company spends, on average, $14 million to launch each mobile project.
As Kent pointed out, this is without taking into account marketing. However, the earnings of Kabam projects are also impressive. Fighting game earns more than $ 25 million a month (you can read the analysis of this game here). Recall that in April it was announced that the game has collected about $ 100 million in 7 months since its launch.
According to Kent, the company has achieved such success due to the fact that it refused to think in the traditional format for the industry, putting traditional business metrics like MAU and DAU in the first place.
Kabam focused on working with the so-called “regulars” – those users who play a specific project of the company every day. They are responsible for 80% of the profits. And they also play the game every day for more than 90 minutes. Accordingly, the game, first of all, is optimized in Kabam for these users.
