Pokémon Go has gained 100 million downloads, but its DAU in the US is falling
For almost four weeks, the Pokémon Go project has managed to reach the mark of 100 million installations. How quickly the game will gain the next 200 million is unclear. In the USA, the DAU of the project and its daily downloads are rapidly melting.
Techcrunch wrote that Pokémon Go broke the 100 million bar this weekend, with reference to App Annie analysts. This is a very good figure. The earnings of the game are no less admired.
Recall, according to App Annie, users spend about $ 10 million a day on it. Analysts of this company say that 80% of the income comes from the USA and Japan, which equally share the income from the project.
Representatives of another analytical company SurveyMonkey Intelligence, in turn, estimated that in America alone, players spend $ 6 million on the game.
At the same time, SurveyMonkey Intelligence assures that the peak of the game’s popularity has already passed. The DAU of the game in the USA, starting from July 14, is decreasing.
The number of downloads in the US is also falling, but already since July 12.
It is possible that the success of Pokémon Go is akin to Draw Something, which has been popular for a very limited amount of time.
Whether this is so will become clear only after the hype around the game subsides, when the situation with the game itself and, of course, around it settles down. In any case, the project has already entered itself into the tablets of the gaming industry, becoming the most downloaded game on iOS in the first week and the first super-successful (both in downloads and revenue) game using geolocation and AR elements.
