Stronghold developers have released their first mobile game
The British company Firefly Studios, famous for a series of Stronghold strategy games, has published its first mobile title, Wonky Tower, in the App Store and Google Play.
In the game, the user must use the game objects at his disposal to build a path to bananas through the entire level for the monkey. In part, the game can be called a simplified version of Amazing Alex.
The game looks like a student’s work. However, Firefly Studios is positioning its game as a training one for the project team itself.
“Most of us don’t have the means to break into mobile. We don’t know anything [about this market]. We released this game to get comfortable here, so as not to risk everything when releasing [the mobile version of] Stronghold Kingdoms,” said Nick Tannahill, business development manager at Firefly Studios.
“Few developers can afford to spend $200 thousand a month to acquire users. So you either experiment, or your applications will go down like an axe. [Experimentation] requires games,” explains Nick.
That’s just whether it is necessary to release projects whose implementation could damage the reputation of the company, he does not specify.
The Wonky Tower game was developed as part of an internal game jam at the company’s London office.
