1. The South Korean company Kakao, publisher of the MMORPG Black Desert Online and owner of the KakaoTalk messenger, opens a branch in the USA. The new office will focus on launching “new gaming services for North America.” In addition, the European branch of the company will be rebranded. The Daum Games Europe branch will be renamed Kakao Games Europe. The office will stop doing PC development and concentrate on projects for consoles, mobile and virtual reality.

2. The anime fighting game Skullgirls will receive a mobile incarnation. The title was announced at Anime Expo 2016 in Los Angeles. The user will be offered to manage a team of characters in different modes. Externally, the project will be similar to the original source, and the plot is a prequel of the original game. The release on iOS and Android is promised “a little later this year,” but for now the authors of Skullgirls invite users to a closed beta test.

We add that the developer of the project was Hidden Variable Studios. The studio will work on the game together with the authors of the original game – the Lab Zero team.

3. Mi-Clos Studio, the creators of the space simulator Out There, are releasing another project in the same universe. The title is called Out There Chronicles. The events of the game will unfold a thousand years before what is happening in the first game. The player will be told the story of a man who travels through outer space in search of other representatives of his race.  The genre of the project is a graphic novel. The game will be released on iOS and Android this summer.
