1. King finally moved to midcore. In addition to RPG Hero, the company has a turn-based strategy Rise of Tyrants in its softlonch. The Z2 game is being developed by the authors of Battle Nations. The title passed to King along with the purchase of the studio. Which explains the long duration of the trial run: Rise of Tyrants has been in the softlonch since September 2014. Interestingly, the United Kingdom was chosen as one of the testing grounds for the game. Pocket Gamer writes that the UK has recently been gaining popularity as a market for trial launches.

2. Nekki has launched a new title on iOS. It’s called Space Warrior: The Origin. This is a space jester-em-up in a psychedelic color scheme. The game takes place in an alternate future, where the user is offered to fight waves of space invaders. At the end of each level, a boss awaits the player. As is probably already clear from the description, the title is a modern reinterpretation of the classic Space Invaders. Unlike the legendary prototype, the player is offered not one, but two control options: taps and using the accelerometer. Let’s add that Nekki acted as the publisher of the title. The developer was Starkom Entertainment.

3. Analysts from Newzoo have published a new study of the Chinese mobile games market. In May, Tencent received 45% of revenue from the 100 highest-grossing local projects. At the same time, the company owns 23 games out of the top 100. The study reports that Tencent’s own gaming platform called Myapp is in first place in downloads in China.
