65% of Twitter users are gamers
Every day, about 230 thousand messages dedicated to games appear on the social platform Twitter.
This was announced by Gleana Albritton, an analyst at the company, as part of the official Twitter blog.
As part of a survey conducted by Twitter among its users, it turned out that 65% of respondents play games. 55% of those who noted this regularly play on consoles.
According to the social platform, 85% of Twitter gamers spend money on games. Among gamers who do not use Twitter, there are fewer payers – 76%.
Twitter also claims that Twitter gamers are 1.25 times more likely to spend more than $100 on games per year compared to gamers who do not use this grid, and 1.2 times more likely to purchase games for consoles.
78% of the gaming audience will learn about new releases from official gaming microblogs. Of this audience, 81% already have at least one console (53% have purchased a console in the last 12 months, 40% plan to buy it next year).
Also, according to Twitter, both the game release and the appearance of the trailer make people talk about the game. 53% of users interested in games interact within the framework of the platform with game videos and trailers, 51% – with tweets with game screenshots, and 44% – with bonus content (development stories, exclusive shots, and so on).
