Rovio has a football manager with updated birds, fans have come up with an engine to restart classic strategies like Command & Conquer and Red Alert, and – ta-dam! – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is coming out.
1. A trial run of the football manager for the Angry Birds franchise took place. The title is called Angry Birds Goal! The player is invited to manage a team of birds and win tournaments with green pigs.
So far, the project has been launched only in a few European countries, including Finland. The characters look different than in the classic version of the game and are similar to the heroes of the upcoming The Angry Birds Movie. Let’s add that this “rebranding” of familiar heroes began with Angry Birds ACTION! and it affected not only new games – Rovio has also updated the icon of the classic Angry Birds.
2. Fans of the classic RTS Command & Conquer have launched the OpenRA project. The goal is to recreate (and modernize) classic strategies. For this purpose, the creators of OpenRA have put an open source engine of the same name into open access. The technology is suitable for strategies in the spirit of Command & Conquer. Fans have already managed to rebuild Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert and Dune 2000 using the engine. Let’s add that OpenRA is still in the works – now the creators of the project are trying to remove the details related to Command & Conquer in order to make the engine universal and suitable for creating any RTS strategies.
3. Couldn’t pass by: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is coming out today (in the Russian version of Uncharted 4: The Thief’s Way). The plot unfolds three years after the events of the third part. On the review aggregator Metacritic, the rating of the game is 94/100. No comments.
