China surpassed Japan in revenue with iOS
In the first quarter of 2016, China surpassed Japan in terms of money collected from iOS users (including money from games).
According to App Annie, China’s quarterly revenues increased 2.2 times compared to the first quarter of last year. The most profitable iOS market remains the United States, whose revenues for the first three months of this year are 30% ahead of Chinese revenues. Games have become the main driver of China’s market growth. Including such box office hits as Fantasy Westward Journey, Westward Journey Online, Hero Moba and The Legend of Mir 2.
And now China earns more on iOS games than Japan.
App Annie also said that the number of downloads made from Google Play turned out to be twice as many as those from the App Store. But the total revenue from applications on the Apple platform is 90% more than the revenue from the official Android market.
In terms of downloads from Google Play, India grew the fastest in the world in the first quarter, and China grew in terms of downloads from iOS. Before Google Play revenues, the largest growth was unexpectedly shown by the USA, with iOS – China.
In the top ten countries in terms of total mobile downloads, Russia ranks fifth – after Brazil and India. Russia is not included in the top ten countries in terms of total mobile income. But, for example, Taiwan is in seventh place.
