Wooga opens a studio to create midcore mobile games
The German company Wooga launches the studio Black Anvil Games. The division’s specialization will be midcore mobile games.
“We decided that Wooga will focus entirely on casual games. We had several midcore strategies in development, and we decided to create a new studio specifically for these games,” commented Jens Begemann, executive director of Wooga.
The staff of the new studio is 40 people. Despite the fact that the division is wholly owned by Wooga, the games that the team will release will be released under the label Black Anvil Games.
The company’s first project will be the Warlords strategy. The game is currently in a trial run on Android. A global release is planned in the summer.
