Rovio is preparing a clone of Monster Strike
At the White Nights Helsinki 2016 conference held in Finland, the authors of Angry Birds announced that they are working on a midcore project. The first details of the project became known the other day.
The novelty is called Deminions Unleashed. It has already been released in 8 regions, including Canada, Australia and Finland.
The game is a traditional Asian card buttler with billiard fighting mechanics. Its closest analogue is the Japanese box office hit Monster Strike (Mixi), which earned $4.2 million a day in the second quarter of 2015. Most of this amount came from the native market for the game.
As in the original project in Deminions Unleashed, the player collects creatures, improves them with the help of other maps, evolves with the help of objects collected in events and fights by throwing his characters at enemies within the turn-based mode.
At the moment, a certain Dark Matter Gaming is listed as the publisher, but most likely it’s just a brand that uses Rovio to “soft launch” its projects. ZeptoLab does the same, for example, by pre-publishing projects on behalf of Dmitriy Momzikov, or Scopely, using the name Phase One Games.
The developer of the game is the Israeli studio Side-Kick. There have been no hits yet in the company’s portfolio of about 20 projects.
The retention of the first day of Deminions Unleashed is currently 60%. His DAU is more than 3 thousand.
