Kongregate has launched a program to finance experimental games
The other day, the publisher of mobile and web projects Kongregate announced the launch of a new program – Launchpad X, aimed at those teams who are “not afraid to take risks.”
The new funding program will exist in parallel with the Launchpad initiative launched by Kongregate last summer. The latter, we recall, is aimed at helping independent teams in bringing almost ready-made projects “to mind”.
Launchpad X, on the contrary, is focused on financing those games that are less than a month in development. “We finance games from the first sketches to completion,” Kongregate proudly declares.
The publisher plans to pay attention to those games built on innovations and root mechanics, whose developers, according to Kongregate, are not afraid to expand boundaries and break genres.
Both programs, first of all, are designed to develop projects for the publisher’s web site. However, if successful, Kongregate will help the indie team to reach other platforms.
