Kickstarter games have raised almost $50 million over the year, Buka will once again try to restart the quest with Vasily Ivanovich and Petka, and the British channel Channel 4 is preparing 3 mobile games for release.
1. The Kickstarter crowdfunding platform in 2015 helped raise money for the launch of 400 games. Half a million people have invested. In total, we managed to raise $46 million.
2. Preparing for the release of “Petka and Vasily Ivanovich save the galaxy: Reboot”. This is the second attempt by the Russian publishing house Buka to revive the popular series of quests in the late 90s. The first one took place in September 2014. The game will be released on Steam and on mobile platforms. The mobile version will have adapted and unadapted controls – that is, with a classic UI, as in the 1998 game, and with an updated one, “for more casual users.” The game will be released on PC on February 5, and on iOS and Android – on the 18th
3. All 4 Games publishing house, the “daughter” of the British public channel Channel 4, will release 3 mobile games at once. These are the arcade game Fire Fu from RetroFist studio, Super Arc Light from the team from Glasgow No Code Studios and Apestorm: Full Bannanas from Finnish Snowhound. The release of the projects will take place in the 1st quarter of 2016.
