The Unsung Heroes initiative was won by the South African game
The Unsung Heroes initiative from the international publishing group Spil Games won the game A Day In The Woods. The author of the project was RetroEpic Software studio from South Africa.
The game is a paid puzzle. The main character of the project was Little Red Riding Hood.
The title won thanks to high-quality graphics and gameplay. “We asked ourselves the question, which game is worthy of being presented to a global audience? And the answer was A Day In The Woods,” commented a representative of Spil Games.
Under the terms of the initiative, Spil Games will conclude a contract with RetroEpic Software worth $ 50 thousand. With the help of the company, the title will be translated into several languages, including Chinese and Portuguese, as well as set up monetization and provide advertising. Perhaps the game will become shareware as a result.
In addition, another winner was the puzzle Toy Rescue Story from the Sugra Games team. The game took second place and will also receive publishing support from Spil Games.
Recall that the Unsung Heroes program started in the spring of 2015. The initiative is designed to help novice developers in promoting games. The audience of the authors of the program – Spil Games – is more than 130 million MAU. According to the organizers of the initiative, more than 300 games took part in the program.
