A documentary about Telltale was released; the author of Broken Sword said that PlayStation killed indie; the game of the year according to TIGA was a clone of Clash of Clans.
1. A documentary about Telltale Games was released, which tells how the team appeared, how it came to an episodic model. The film is masterfully made, and therefore it is a pity that it lasts only 30 minutes. However, this time is enough to cover the main milestones in the company’s history.
2. As part of the British Interface conference, the author of the Broken Sword series, Charles Cecil, stated that PlayStation killed the British indie development in the mid-90s. “We had Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider and Worms. Great Britain was leading the world to non-football games at that time,” Cecil said. Then, according to him, came PlayStation, whose success forced retailers to turn away from independent developers who made PC games.
3. The best game of the year according to the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2015 was Rival Kingdoms from Space Ape Games, which, recall, is a clone of Clash of Clans with a plot from Rihanna Pratchett. Rival Kingdoms’ competitors for the title of game of the year, by the way, included Dreamfall Chapters, Life is Strange and Until Dawn.
