The Unreal engine version was released under the number 4.10
Epic Games has pleased with a fresh update of the Unreal Engine. There are not a lot of changes and they cannot be called very significant, but this time a lot of chips were introduced specifically for mobile game developers.
Now existing shaders with reflections will automatically work on mobile devices – nothing more needs to be done to adapt them.
However, it does not work on all mobile devices. The list of favorites includes iPhone 5S and younger, as well as the following Android-based devices: Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S6.
We have also implemented a new system to optimize the quality of materials in the game. It is called appropriately – Material Quality. With its help, developers can generate shaders of three gradations of quality (low, medium and high) for all types of materials. This is necessary so that the engine, when starting the game, automatically analyzes the capabilities of the device and loads the appropriate settings.
The same scene on the Galaxy S6 Edge (above) and Galaxy S III looks different, but it is assumed that in both cases the project works fine
Unreal also now supports the iOS 9 SDK and Marshmallow (6.0). There is also support for Visual Studio 2015.
