According to the publication, Apple is negotiating the creation of applications with the main video services of the Russian market. This is ivi.ru , Okko, Nemo TV, and Amediateka. Kommersant notes that Apple’s audience is characterized by high payment activity. However, a high level of video piracy and the presence of an alternative familiar to users – Smart TV – can hinder the development of the project.

According to Artur Sakharov, technical director of the mobile application development company Redmadrobot, the work of the service will be organized in the same way as in iTunes. Apple will receive a commission from each transaction. Sakharov believes that Apple TV will be able to solve the problems that interfere with the consumption of content through Smart TV devices. “A complex interface, inconvenient management, lack of integration with mobile and desktop devices — all these shortcomings will come to naught with the launch of Apple TV on the Russian market,” he suggests.

Representatives of Apple and most of the mentioned video services have so far refrained from official comments.

Recall that in September Apple announced an updated Apple TV. The console now runs on a new OS – tvOS. It will be possible to install applications from the App Store on it.
