Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2015: Seferta's "Three Mobile Stories"
Eric Seferth, who holds the post of Vice president for user acquisition at Rovio, read a report on the state of the advertising market at the PocketGamer Connects 2015 conference, which is currently taking place in Helsinki. Slides and key points of the report are in our short material.
There are still a lot of interesting figures and graphs in the report, so we recommend reading it anyway. But we wanted to draw attention to the following provisions:
- Already, Facebook earns significantly more from mobile advertising than from desktop advertising (according to the forecast for 2015, mobile advertising will bring Zuckerberg $ 10 billion – this is against $4 billion desktop).
- The time that users spend working with mobile devices is growing, but the time spent in a mobile browser is falling in favor of the native.
- Advertising costs this year will amount to a completely abnormal $68.7 billion. By 2018, this figure will reach $166 billion.
- Users are spending less and less time on mobile games, but more and more on working with messengers and entertainment programs.
- Advertising of mobile programs on television is less effective than on mobile.
