Jones was pivotal in creating the Halo and Destiny game franchises, while Stohl co-founded 7 Studios with Lewis Paterson, which was later purchased by Activision. She serves as CEO of Stone Kite and is also recognized for authoring the Beautiful Creatures book series.

The studio, located in Los Angeles, aims to create expansive worlds and is starting with its initial intellectual property, titled One Zero One. This project, rooted in an original narrative by Jones, will delve into a major global clash involving humans and AI-controlled robotic forces. The story will debut as a four-part comic series available for free online in the early part of 2027, with further media ventures to follow.

Stone Kite's leadership team features Stephen Wacker, former media SVP, as well as Lewis Peterson as president. The team also includes Matt Johnson, VP for film and TV, and Jeanine Schaefer as the narrative creative director.

Collaborating with a wide array of over 250 industry creators, Stone Kite has partnered with notable figures like director Jay Roach, comic writer Christian Ward, illustrator Kyle Lambert, author Stephen Graham Jones, and screenwriter Akela Cooper.

Stohl stated, "Throughout my career in books, games, comics, film, and television, I've observed how the medium chosen to tell a story often dictates its future adaptations. Stone Kite intends to eliminate these traditional divisions, engaging top creators from different fields to collaboratively build worlds from the outset."

Jason Jones remarked on the partnership, saying, "I used to ride miles to gather sci-fi books, and Margie was pivotal as the first person who believed in my ability to author a book. She read my work initially and was crucial in transforming it into a grand narrative that has a positive impact on the world."
