Carlos Sanchez, previously affiliated with ProbablyMonsters, has joined forces with Jolie Menzel, Kevin Creese, Matt Boehm, and Ryan Kaufman to introduce Zunzún, a game studio dedicated to creating "emotionally rich, single-player narrative games." Sanchez, Menzel, Creese, and Boehm hold key leadership roles as CEO, studio design director, studio engineering director, and studio animation director, respectively, while Kaufman, who has past experience at Telltale and LucasArts, serves as chief content officer.

Working alongside a team of talented professionals from South America, Kaufman emphasized the studio's commitment to developing "stories designed to resonate, characters that stay with you, and choices that hit you right in the chest."

Highlighting their belief in games as an art form, Kaufman added, "Our studio is small but fierce—like our namesake, the Zunzún hummingbird—agile, creative, and driven by heart." The studio's debut project is set to be "bold, beautiful, and lasting," drawing from a new original IP.

Earlier this year, ProbablyMonsters executed a wave of developer layoffs.
