Amazon Luna has introduced Star Wars: Galactic Racer to its lineup, now available to those with a Prime subscription
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set to debut on the Amazon Luna cloud gaming platform, accessible through a Prime membership. This offering is from Fuse Games with publication by Secret Mode.
Amazon Luna users can engage with the game's single-player content as well as its Arcade and Scenario modes. The Arcade mode involves quick, objective-driven events, while Scenario mode presents varied rules and characters.
The title will also be released concurrently on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Jeff Gattis, Amazon's Head of Gaming, emphasized to GamesIndustry.biz that Luna players will have the opportunity to experience the game immediately upon release, negating the need for a console or lengthy downloads.
According to Gattis, Luna supports Prime members by delivering this game without extra charges, aligning with Luna's mission to offer engaging experiences. The cloud service initially launched in the US in 2022 and reached the UK, Germany, and Canada the subsequent year, before being integrated into Prime Video in both the US and the UK in July this year.
Boasting an array of over 100 games, Luna includes titles from Ubisoft+ and other linked accounts, featuring games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Hogwarts Legacy, and EA Sports FC 26.
GamesIndustry.biz discussed Luna’s future ambitions and Amazon Game Studios' plans with Jeff Gattis following its inclusion in Prime Video. Gattis highlighted efforts to appeal to users absent of traditional gaming hardware, who still seek engaging, accessible gaming experiences.
Gattis commented on this audience's preferences for well-known game franchises that don't demand mastery of complex mechanics, striking a balance with approachable yet popular IP offerings such as Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones, with Tomb Raider in the pipeline.
