The video game Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be featured on Amazon Luna, the cloud gaming platform, as part of a Prime subscription bundle when it debuts.

The game is developed by Fuse Games and distributed by Secret Mode. Amazon Luna subscribers will access a range of gameplay modes including a single-player campaign as well as Arcade and Scenarios modes.

In Arcade mode, players will engage in short, goal-oriented events, whereas the Scenarios mode introduces various characters and rule-sets. The title will be accessible on Amazon Luna along with platforms such as Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

According to Jeff Gattis, Amazon's Head of Gaming, "Star Wars: Galactic Racer delivers the opportunity for Luna subscribers to dive into the action as soon as it’s released, sidestepping the need for traditional gaming consoles or extensive downloads. For Prime members, this new release is included without extra cost, aligning with the kind of immersive experience we strive to deliver on Luna."

The US saw Amazon Luna's release in 2022, with expansion into the UK, Germany, and Canada the following year. This summer, Amazon Luna became part of Amazon Prime Video in the US and UK.

The platform offers a library exceeding 100 games, including titles such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Hogwarts Legacy, and EA Sports FC 26.

Gattis discussed the future prospects of Amazon Luna and Amazon Game Studios in a conversation with GamesIndustry.biz. He described the strategy to reach non-console owning gamers, emphasizing accessible, widely appealing AAA games. "These are players who aren’t necessarily into high-intensity shooters but enjoy major AAA IPs that are easy to play with simple mechanics," he explained.
