The troubled free-to-play game Splitgate 2, a crossover between Halo and Portal, is scheduled for a re-launch next month

1047 Games has announced that it will close the beta phase for Splitgate 2, its troubled sequel, on December 4.
The game, which launched in May 2025, was surrounded by controversies, including a "Make FPS Great Again" promotional hat and a cosmetic bundle priced at $145.
A month after its release, 1047 Games executed layoffs affecting an undisclosed number of its staff. The following month, the company decided to revert the game to its beta stage and conducted another round of layoffs.
After these events, the development team focused on refinements, gaining insights from each beta phase and keeping their player community informed of the progress.
In anticipation of a relaunch scheduled for "later in December," the company announced it will shut down the beta. Additional information regarding this move has not been disclosed.
