Duet Night Abyss, an RPG developed by Pan Studio, has decided to eliminate all gacha-related features just weeks before its scheduled release date on October 28. The alterations follow observations from fan feedback gathered during beta tests, which indicated dissatisfaction with the game's original approach.

Speaking to Automaton, Deca Bear, the game's producer, disclosed that the initial character and weapon gacha model faced consistent criticism. "Our analysis of player data, community responses, and surveys highlighted significant discontent," Bear stated, explaining that attempts to improve the system failed to address these issues. Consequently, the decision was made to align with the original goal of delivering an accessible and enjoyable gaming experience.

Opting out of gacha and stamina elements means a potential short-term revenue reduction, Bear acknowledged. However, he asserted that long-term benefits such as improved player loyalty and a positive reputation could result in a more sustainable business approach.

Bear emphasized the team's long-term approach, which focuses on adapting to player preferences over the next few years. The focus is on enhancing the gaming experience without resorting to aggressive monetization tactics like pay-to-win strategies.

Characters in Duet Night Abyss will now be accessible at no cost and remain available in the game, with the studio planning to monetize through optional purchases, including cosmetics and other enhancements.
