Wargaming has decided to discontinue its free-to-play shooter, Steel Hunters, only three months after its release

Steel Hunters

The live-service shooter, Steel Hunters, is set to discontinue operations just a few months after its early access launch.

Wargaming, the game's developer and publisher, expressed in a statement that despite the community's "tremendous passion and support," it was determined that maintaining the game's development is not viable.

The game, which became available on April 2, holds a 'mixed' user rating on Steam. As noted by Eurogamer, the game achieved its highest peak of concurrent users at 4479 on its release day.

Players can continue to access Steel Hunters' servers until the beginning of October.

The development team conveyed their gratitude, stating, "We greatly appreciate your participation, feedback, memes, and the unforgettable battles we've experienced together. From Alpha onwards, your enthusiasm and commitment have significantly influenced Steel Hunters, and we are grateful to have shared this journey with you. We couldn't have asked for a more supportive community, and saying goodbye is tough."
