Wargaming shuts down the free-to-play shooter, Steel Hunters, merely three months after its debut

The live-service game, Steel Hunters, is set to cease operations just a few months after its early access launch. The title was free-to-play and intended for a wide user engagement.
In an announcement by its developer and publisher, Wargaming, they expressed appreciation for the community's enthusiastic involvement. However, they acknowledged that further development is "not sustainable."
Since its early access debut on April 2, the game has received a 'mixed' user rating on Steam. According to Eurogamer, the highest number of concurrent players was 4,479 on launch day.
The servers for Steel Hunters will be operational until the beginning of October.
The team expressed deep gratitude for players' feedback, creativity, and shared experiences from the Alpha phase. They conveyed how much they valued the community's contributions and lamented the end of this collective journey.
