Take-Two Report: NBA 2K25 sales exceeded 4.5 million copies, and the number of GTA+ subscribers increased by 35%
Take-Two Interactive reported results for the second quarter of fiscal 2025, which ended on September 30.

Key figures for the quarter
- Take-Two generated $1.35 billion in revenue for the quarter, which aligns with the upper limit of forecasts. This is a 4% increase from last year.
- The main growth drivers were the GTA and Borderlands franchises.
- Digital sales remained the primary source of income, accounting for 96% of the revenue — $1.3 billion.
- More than half of the revenue was generated by mobile games — $740.2 million. Console games contributed $491.1 million (36%), and PC games — $121.8 million (9%).
- Net bookings increased by 2% year-over-year to $1.47 billion.
- Revenue from player recurring spending (microtransactions, DLC, in-game advertising, etc.) grew by 6%, making up 81% of the total amount.
- Net losses amounted to $365.5 million, which is 39% less than last year's $543.6 million.
- The forecast for the remainder of the fiscal year remains unchanged: Take-Two expects net revenue of $5.55–5.65 billion, up 5% from last year. The projected net loss is expected to be $775–839 million.
Game data for the quarter
- NBA 2K25 sold 4.5 million copies, comparable to last year’s release. However, the new title showed "double-digit growth" in ARPU (average revenue per user), and the average net profit per user increased by 40%.
- GTA+, a subscription service for GTA Online featuring bonuses and a game library including Red Dead Redemption, GTA Trilogy, and Bully, increased its subscriber base by 35% compared to last year.
- By March 31, 2027, Take-Two plans to release 37 new games.
- The number of expected projects has been reduced from the previously announced 40. During an investor presentation, Take-Two President Karl Slatoff confirmed the sale of Private Division. As a result, Take-Two no longer has indie game partnerships in development.
- The release of GTA VI is still scheduled for fall 2025.
- In fiscal years 2026–2027, Take-Two intends to break its own net bookings records thanks to GTA VI, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, Mafia: The Old Country, and Borderlands 4.
