MEDIA: MY.GAMES is preparing to sell the Boosty content subscription service. UPDATED
The Boosty service may have a new owner. According to Kommersant’s sources, MY.GAMES is going to transfer Boosty to a separate Russian legal entity and then sell it. According to the plan, the sale should take place before the end of the year.
According to the newspaper, MY.GAMES has already found several potential buyers. It is not known exactly who they are. It is assumed that VK is one of those who wants to buy Boosty.
Boosty was launched in 2019, but the service gained particular popularity last year after Patreon was blocked in Russia. It is reported that in 2022 Boosty recorded a tenfold increase in the number of registrations of content authors.
MY.GAMES denies recent media reports of a possible sale of Boosty to any Russian company, asserting them as false.
